Technical Writer

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining policies and procedures for all areas and departments of Silvergate. The Technical Writer will work closely with existing technical writing staff and support existing efforts as determined by the manager of the technical writing team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology
Review and update existing documents for proper grammar and sentence structure
Regularly meet and communicate with subject matter experts
Analyze information required to complete assignments
Maintain prompt and consistent communication between all parties
Review and edit content developed by other team members (peer reviews)
Assist with special assignments as needed
Must perform daily duties with an awareness of time management, efficiency, and preservations of company assets and resources
Maintain current knowledge of all federal and state laws and regulations, along with the Company’s policies and procedures
Not to harm consumers with any act that could be misleading, unfair, deceptive, or abusive in act or practice

Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent
4+ years experience in technical writing
Experience with technical writing standards and practices as it relates to documenting processes and procedures.
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to prioritize and reprioritize tasks throughout the day
Must have the ability to keep many parties updated, and communication must be consistent and concise
Must have the ability to focus on immediate tasks and meet deadlines yet handle several issues simultaneously
Must be proficient in the use of Excel; Word; Outlook; Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet. Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio is most helpful
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a necessary requirement
BANK SECRECY ACT:
Responsible for adhering to the reporting and recordkeeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, observing economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), following the bank’s customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
